Round 4 of the 2008 CAMS NSW Supersprint at Oran Park saw "Presto" and the Vortx R1 score yet another win. Despite being hampered by a fuel injector niggle which took the edge off the R1 engine's performance, "Presto's" 1:15.2 sec lap was enough to keep ahead of Jason Wright's Subaru WRX Sti (1:16.7) and John Bugh's turbo PRB Clubman (1:17.8).
It was three from three for Redback Motorsport's MNR Vortx R1 and "Presto", taking out Round 3 of the CAMS NSW Supersprint series at Sydney's Eastern Creek track. While the weatherman's threatened thunderstorms didn't eventuate, overnight rain washed the track clean, stripping the surface of any grip.
Round 2 of the CAMS NSW Supersprint was another success for "Presto" and the Miami Ice Vortx. Wakefield Park's wintry conditions kept everyone on their toes, with cold winds and dark clouds circling the track for most of the day. Luckily it remained dry and Presto's 63.6sec lap had him at the top of the charts, with John Vader's EVO9 next on a 66.7sec followed by the PRB Clubman of John Bugh at 67.4sec.
You can't ask for a better start to the season than with a win! Once again the Vortx has topped the charts, this time at Oran Park contesting Round 1 of the CAMS NSW Supersprint Championship.
Round 1 of the CAMS NSW Supersprint Championship gets underway this Sunday, 30th March, at Sydney's Oran Park. "Presto" is back in the Miami Ice Cafe Vortx and with a strong contingent of Clubmans entered this should be a busy meeting.
